Smith to lead Hawks in duel against Pistons
Date Posted: 22 February 2013 0 CommentsAfter dealing with trade rumors for the past weeks involving star forward Josh Smith, the Atlanta Hawks will try to move on with the rest of their season when they face the young and talented Detroit Pistons on Tuesday morning at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Hawks need to collect as many wins as possible to get a better standing in the Eastern Conference so they’ll need Smith’s production to be consistent. Along with frontcourt player Al Horford, Smith – averaging 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists – will have to perform effectively if Atlanta hopes to outplay the Pistons’ sensational group of players.
Detroit will be led by young studs Greg Monroe and Brandon Knight. Monroe has been tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds a night, while Knight averages 13 points and four assists.
Despite their lackluster overall record, the Pistons have proven so far this year that they are very impressive when playing at The Palace. With home victories against some of the elite teams like the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs, the Pistons will prove to be a big challenge for the Hawks.
With one team striving to crack one of the top spots in the East and the other team hoping to earn some recognition with a victory against a worthy opponent, fans can expect a great battle between these two squads.
